ABOUT KATE: FROM CINEMATIC SETS TO PERSONAL HOMES
Before establishing Kate Lovejoy Interiors in 2009, I spent ten years working in film design, creating spaces where light, colour and the smallest details helped tell a story.
It taught me to look at interiors differently. Not just at how a room looks, but how it feels and the atmosphere it creates.
That thinking still shapes my work today.
I’m drawn to homes with character and to people who want their surroundings to reflect something of themselves. I enjoy exploring unexpected ideas, finding the right balance between creativity and practicality and helping clients feel confident enough to make choices that are genuinely their own.
Every project is a collaboration, but I believe a good designer should bring ideas to the conversation, not simply follow a brief.

Ideally, before the architectural plans are finalised. Early spatial planning allows us to consider furniture layouts, lighting, storage and how rooms connect before building work begins. Our Before You Build consultancy is designed for this stage.
Can we still work with Kate Lovejoy Interiors if we don't yet have a clear vision for our home? →
Many clients come to Kate Lovejoy Interiors without a fully formed vision for their home. That is never a problem—it is often the absolute best place to begin. Through gentle conversation, visual references, and collaborative spatial planning, we work side-by-side with you to find a design direction that feels entirely right and make it real.
