ABOUT THE PROJECT
Stephen and Louisa had been searching for a project that would be a second home and holiday let. As soon as they saw the Dorset gem, they fell in love. The house had a quiet grandeur to it but the decór was tired, dull and entirely beige!
They knew that they wanted to create a stylish and unusual twist to the traditional feel that a house like this might have but being a remote project, they were concerned that the project could drag on, costing time and money if they didn’t have a clear vision for the design.
I distilled their ideas into design solutions and provided a full kit for them to implement the design with ease and confidence throughout the entire house.
They now have the dream second home they had alway wanted, as well as a very successful rental, that is booked up for months ahead!
UNDERSTANDING MY CLIENTS’ VIBE!
Steven and Louisa are amazingly creative clients and they just love music…so I couldn’t resist tapping into their ‘vibe’ with a secret gold loo, complete with this gold retro cassette wallpaper!
Cool Luxury is all about understated quality. I used a gentle green grey background palette for the house which we populated with beautiful antique and up cycled furniture on every floor.
Details like this incredible stair runner and brass rods are the ultimate in understated style.
"We worked with Kate for the second time, this time remotely for our holiday home in Dorset. Kate gave excellent instructions for the measurements, floor plans and photos she would need and then provided online mood boards for each room, including the overall colour scheme and suggested furniture and layouts. From the kitchen makeover and exact paint instructions throughout, she was even across all the detail from light switches to houseplant accessories. A top to bottom service and an amazing result, thank you, Kate!"
